Oyster Pancake #001

Father-in-law bought lunch for mother-in-law(MIL) and confinement lady (CL) today, as usual. He bought additional snacks for them from Maxwell market, oyster pancakes, which were supposedly much tastier (or rather to their preference) than the ones sold by Hong's at Amoy .  Apparently, they preferred this Maxwell store (which doesn't open on Sundays) over Hong's cos this store fries it drier, or rather the composition of the flour mixture is not as sticky.

I had been introduced to this delectable snack by dear hubby when he started bringing me to church almost 5 years ago. Its a deep-fried snack containing some flour mixture with small oysters, minced meat, some veg. The entire mixture is laid on a round ladle and lowered into hot oil to fry, with some peanuts on top. During my pregnancy, hubby would get them to make special ones, omitting the oysters, for me.

Today, I could only watch them eat....

"What I missed today" Intro #000

Starting to run out of topics to blog about since I'm cooped up at home all day. Figuring its gonna get worse in 2 weeks time when Im left alone (without confinement lady) to take care of dear daughter. 

Thought I'd start a thread here listing the foods I've been tempted to eat today, but can't because of the following reasons: 

a. food & beverages that been medically proven to be non-beneficial to me or daughter (Im breastfeeding her); 

b. food & beverages that I believe are non-beneficial; 

c. food & beverages that I HAVE BEEN TOLD (by elders) to abstain from; 

d. food & beverages that are not bought for me cos some people think I should abstain from. 

CO Memories on (and from) Youtube

I was on facebook as usual today and saw a CO junior's status updates on Youtube videos on CO and lamentations on why there wasn't such stuff during our generation. She's two years younger than me, so I consider myself being of the 'same generation'. Haha. 

I thus continued to login to my Youtube account and decided to go through the videos and music pieces I had searched before. And of course, I had "favourited" two videos, which included me in the concert performance. That was during the DHSCO anniversary concert:《华夏情韵回顾30年》 or "Melodies of the Chinese Spirit - Recollections". The pieces played then weren't my most proud moments/best pieces, but ah well... better than nothing!
